A message from MAPLE & GREEN...

GREEN and myself (MAPLE) Welcome YOU to "LEAVES." We are honored to have you with us today.

ABOUT US:

Our handler, WHIT K. LEE picked us to make this film for all of you one Wednesday afternoon in the Fall of 2013. According to him, he found his inspiration while taking our pictures at our former home, New York's Central Park and later inspiration from his local park, Inwood Hill Park.

Now before we go on, while we wish we could say that "no leaves were harmed in the making of LEAVES," one stunt double for GREEN was indeed torn to pieces. LEE has yet to grasp the concept of "oneness" and so we have not yet received an official apology.

However, despite this we are actually quite grateful to LEE for plucking us from the fated cycle of life most of our friends blindly go through. We feel for all the leaves who have not had the chance to live, love and act in a short film. So in the spirit of forgiveness... "Thank you LEE for the opportunity."

In case you were wondering, GREEN and I are married and consulting with WHIT K. LEE on his next installment in this series of Object-Narratives, (a term he is borrowing from improv, but hopes to establish as a new and fun genre in film), STONES.

Finally, GREEN and I are both getting older and brittle together, so while our lives are fragile and may be ending soon, we hope that LEE continues to create films that "inspire Thought & Action through Laughter."

Sincerely yours,

MAPLE & GREEN
